Mr S neoprene gas mask hood

The other day, a vanilla someone asked me how many hoods I owned. “Three or four?”

I chuckled. “More like 10-12.”

“Why do you have so many? Don’t they all do the same thing?” she wondered.

Mr. S Asylum Hood

“Well, no. There are different materials — leather, latex, canvas…spandex, neoprene, metal….Okay, maybe I have more like 18,” I corrected. “Some have open eyes or open mouths. Some are total enclosure, isolation hoods. Some are loose, some tight. Oh, and there are gas masks and head cages and …Actually, I probably have about 25 hoods.”

(I just counted off the top of my head and came up with 22. I’m sure there are a few I’m forgetting.)

And soon, this beauty from Mr. S will be joining my collection. It’s currently being customized with extra D-rings for head immobilization. Because what good is head bondage if you can’t keep the head still?!

  • Troy, first I LOVE the last sentence.

I couldn’t agree with you more — the variety you own is simply … incredible. Good hoods are an investment, and it’s obvious you have invested in what you love. It’s wonderful to see someone who shares the same passion for them too. Of course, I am partial to the tight, isolation ones, but that’s the object in me waiting to be exploited. Or ignored and left alone.

  • “Why do you have so many? Don’t they all do the same thing?” she wondered.

I had this exact same question from my partner when we first started dating and I told her I was into all this stuff, and when she saw my collection of bondage gear – though not as expansive as yours, clearly!

I think there’s something about them, and any other bondage equipment, that always keeps you on the lookout for something that does it just a little bit differently.

  • Hoods are by far my favorite part of the bondage experience. No other single piece of gear can have such a physical/mental effect on the sub. Even with no other bondage, just being hooded alone packs quite a punch. I’ve had my eye on the dickie style one by Winter Fetish. It would really allow for a seamless bondage transition from the hood to the straitjacket or sleepsack.

All of this hood talk has me yearning for the feeling of one now!

Glad to know you share my love of hoods! I’m still refining my head restraint. It’s one thing to tether it to the table or back of the chair. It’s another to immobilize it. If only those head restraints on spine boards came in kinkier colors…

You know I love that bishop! For the reasons you say and more (I like to stroke hair, cheeks sometimes).

YES! I’m sure plenty of people look at my collection and find it so redundant (*seven* body bags? Whyyyy?!) but each one does something differently. I love when I’m playing and I try a piece of gear and it doesn’t fit him or I realize it doesn’t do what I need it to, there are usually at least two other alternatives.

    @Mark
I’ve missed you!!!! Thanks for stopping by! I would love to see you again, you know. But how can you reference gear in your comment and not include a link? I take it you mean this one? http://winterfetish.com/catalog/Darlex-Hood-With-Dickie-Style-Long-Neck.html I like it! Winter Fetish makes great stuff — I don’t own any myself (yet) but I’ve played with their darlex zentai. It’s so thick and sleek and delicious! You do have good taste. You were the first person to show me that Carrera neck brace (http://www.carrara-designs.be/products/collars/index.html), in fact. Have you found anyone who owns it yet?

  • Leather and Latex hoods are best when used together. A Fetters no eyes or mouth full zip with pump inflator, OVER a nose holes only latex hood, OVER a rubber strap ball gag. Then start pumping… Not much left to say, and you can’t say much… You can just breath slowly and wait for your release.

  • About breath-control I love the feeling of a female hand closing in, first I cant speak or call out, next my air is slowly taken away, while I’m in tight rubber bondage totally at the mercy of my Mistress.

  • Agreed. Total immobilization includes the head. Struggles become negligible enhancing all the other sensations for me.
