My long-ago ex-boyfriend knew the rules: As long as he got my birthday right, he’d get a pass on every other (bullshit) holiday. Christmas, anniversaries, vacation-friendly holiday weekends…and most of all, Valentine’s Day. Ironically, of all of those, next to Christmas, which I haven’t participated in since I was 18, my least important holiday has been Valentine’s Day. Could not care less. Yet every year, Valentine’s Day was the one day that he managed to really show up. Didn’t always nail it. But he always showed up.

So, in the spirit of showing up, I give you my first blog post in months. Plus my official announcement of the fully redesigned TroyOrleans.com. You’ll find a handful of new photographs, speedier page loads (thanks to a new hosting server), new galleries, new content, new session options, and more new-to-you stuff that’s old to me at this point cause I’ve been working on this thing For.Ever.

Would love to get your feedback in the comments, please. I definitely prefer your bouquets (and brickbats) over a box of chocolates. I hate chocolate.

  • Hallmark holiday if ever there was one. For sure not my fave. But I try and show up for those who value the day that florists rip you and restaurants prix fixe you and card stores go ape-sap. I’ll check the new e-you and leave more comments but your blogroll is missing an extraordinarily well regarded and award winning entrant, no?
