I finally got my computer fixed. Turned out my fan was busted (actually, I should’ve known this … I’ve spent most of the past 2-3 weeks with ice packs under my laptop because it’d run so hot). So now my laptop has a new motherboard, heat sink, fan, and keyboard. It’s like it’s almost new!

More importantly, I can actually navigate like a member of the 21st century. So if you’ve been wanting or meaning to get in touch (or you’ve been waiting for a reply…) resend it to me. Or write me again. I’ll get it! I’ll write you back!

  • Thinking you were more a MAC advocate than PC geek. I love the MAC commercials.

    I just got a whip-fast, brand-spankin’ new laptop (another Dell)… Windows Vista Business…

Arrrgggh….I’d like the tech-geeks at Microsoft (and NORTON) tied to the bench for some corrective corporal- I may even want to top that session.

Nice to hear you have your cool back.

  • FYI – they make small cooling fan stations that you can dock your laptop in for regular use. Since the CPUs of them get so hot, it can be pretty darned annoying.

Just google for a “laptop cooling fan” – they run anywhere from $15-30.

  • Fortunately, the machine’s still under warranty … though that gives me far less justification to buy a Mac rightthisminute.

Good luck with that Vista, PK.

I’ll keep that in mind for next time, aarkey. Thanks.
