One of the things I love about my practice is that a lot of the people I play with are gear addicts just like me. Since many aren’t in a situation where they can shop for gear at home, they’ll often have things sent to me or I’ll order it on their behalf  for a scene we’re planning. (While I love going shoe and lingerie shopping with my play partners — especially when they’re wired up with electrics or in a chastity cage or otherwise, um, reminded of their place during these outings — my taste for such indulgences comes and goes*. I always have an appetite for gear.)

The other day, I got an email from a play partner informing me that he was thinking about this for Salon d’Orleans and asked if I liked it:

Silentium

Really. What’s not to love?!?!

The link to Meo (accurately taglined “Meo Makes You Come”), which sells the contraption, reminded me that Meo is one of my favorite gear sites. Nearly every piece they sell gets me damp in the knickers.

Like this. And this. And this. And this. And especially this. Oh, and THIS (inflatable AND electric! Who knew!?) I could go on.

More than anything, I think what really thrills me here is how talking about scene ideas, getting gear together, telling each other our fantasies makes what we do in the studio a collaboration of sorts. I’m still, unquestionably, in control. What we engage in and how are driven by my pleasure, desire, and ultimate vision. (I have no problem saying, “I’m not ready for that” when presented with a fantasy that doesn’t immediately feel like a great fit.). I dunno. There’s something about being “in this” together that feels sexier, adult, and more powerful/empowering. “I know what you like,” I can now say. And then I decide just how I want to give it to you.

If at all.

  • Mmm, metal.
Usually, I use chopsticks and tiny rubberbands to cinch up tongues… but THAT is a million times better.

I hope there will be a blog post soon about your first time using it (with photos!)

  • Ms. Troy,

While your collection of gear is amazing, and I love every item in it, what really sets you apart and makes you such an amazing play partner is your incredible creativity and unbridled enthusiasim. Will surely be seeing you again, soon!

  • @E You know, I know about the chopsticks thing … I just never think to do it. I hope that bit of marvelousness works. I can’t wait to play with it. And, yes, I’ll post pictures!

@RNJ Oh, goody! And thanks so much for the kind words. You’re a peach.

  • .. Just love the way you think! i’ve been trying forever to get someone to do a collaborative scene [with no success]. there’d certainly be lots of bizarre equipment worked in.. and no complaints on your ideas there 😉

    • @sherulz Oh! Thank you! While I don’t know you or your scene, some of the obstacles you’re encountering w/r/t a “collaborative” scene may be simply an issue of familiarity. I don’t know how keen I’d be to embark on a major production with a new play partner. It’s one thing for a new guy to say, “My primary interest is metal bondage and I’ve always wanted to do a scene with the metal ball hood and fist mitts. I notice you have the ball hood and, if you don’t have them already, I’d like to order the fist mitts for you so that we can play with them.” It’s quite another for a total stranger to say, “I’ve been fantasizing about a four day medical institutional scene with water bondage, electroshock therapy, a fleet of nurses/medical staff, and an abduction via ambulance…Do you have an iron lung? Cause I’ve got a line on one in Kansas…” (Then again, I bet if you said that to Amanda Wildefyre, she’d be game … and she already has the iron lung!)

Anyway, if you want to pitch me, I’d be happy to hear your scene idea and give you some advice on how to approach a domme about it that might yield more success.

  • Thanks for the offer, but think i just need the right play partner (and willingness/time to bounce ideas around)… And with Amanda i wouldn’t dare give her all those details – a few sentences and she’s off running in a better than dreamed of direction.
